Privet

Privet
A deciduous shrub growing to 2–3 meters in height. It tolerates pruning very well, which is why it is often used for creating hedges or alleys. The leaves are lance-shaped and glossy. The small white flowers are grouped in terminal panicles (June–July). The fruits are black, shiny berries gathered in clusters that can decorate the plant throughout winter. They are not edible for humans but provide valuable food for birds.
Requires sunny locations. Has no special soil requirements, although it prefers fertile, well-drained soils. Hardy in difficult conditions, resistant to air pollution and frost.
